The Nutritional Services Department recognizes the connection between a healthy diet and a student's ability to learn.

Our mission is to teach students how to establish and maintain life-long healthy eating through nutrition education and the foods served.

And provide educational opportunities.
YLI Youth Leadership Institute  The Healthy Empowered Youth , HEY! Team is a group of high school students who are working to increase nutrition and physical activity in public high schools in Marin.

It helps to connect many community efforts in increasing access to healthy foods and places to be physically active and facilitates change at the environmental and policy levels.

The program teaches students about the path from farm to fork, and instills healthy eating habits that can last a lifetime. At the same time, use of local produce in school meals and educational activities provides a new direct market for farmers in the area and mitigates environmental impacts of transporting food long distances.
