For all students to succeed, parent help and support at home is critical. Please help your child develop good study habits, complete homework and read every day. Here are some additional steps you can take to help your child succeed in school:
- Ask your child's teacher to explain math, reading and language arts grade level expectations and skills your child must learn to be promoted to the next grade.
- Explain to your child how you will help at home and how the school will help to support your child's efforts to advance to the next grade level.
- Set regular times of the day and week to work with your child on the skills he or she must learn.
- Encourage your child to learn new material and concepts, explore topics and share completed assignments with you.
- Praise your child for their effort and their good work.
- Carefully monitor your child's progress. If your child begins to struggle, contact your child's teacher for help.
